We’re getting close to winter break.   Let’s hope we see some of that white stuff start to fall!  Don’t forget we’re on break from December 21-January 5th.  We wish you all a restful break.

English   Wednesday, December 18th will be the last spelling test of 2019.  Students will resume receiving homework the Wednesday they return from break.  The first test of 2020 will be January 15th.

Math  Students will have their unit 4 test on Tuesday, December 17th.  This week they did a great job reviewing all their concepts so they feel ready.

In PYP they finished their informative article # 2 for the mural newspaper “Culturizate con los chamos” in which they explain the process of electric power generation and its transportation to homes in the United States of America. Please see the wall outside of  Ibrahin’s room so you can observe the new articles and talk with your child about his/her learning. They also finished their reflections on the energy unit. Next week they will begin a new unit on the transdisciplinary theme How We Organize Ourselves.

In Spanish it was a very productive and fun week. The children were learning about the use of the period (.), The dash (-) and the use of the letters b and v in Spanish. It was also very satisfying to see how the children were so engaged in writing stories for an international competition of students of Spanish as a foreign language. Our students let their imaginations fly reflecting their personalities creating stories for a variety of audiences. The entries were sent today. Good luck to our “future Cervantes.”
